Spring Break 2004!
I have not updated my blog in a while, so this update will be a bit larger than normal. Spring Break was great! I went to MegaCon, hung out with friends that I went to high school with, helped raise money for retarded children, cleared out part of the greenbelt behind my house, and relaxed. There that was the summary, now for the details.
MegaCon
MegaCon was awesome. After going through the huge line for tickets, I looked for the two people I was supposed to meet there, but I could not find them. Instead I saw David and his friend, Neumann, there. So, I waited in line again. Then we went around looking at all the stuff. I got two comics, one when Batman and Superman team up, and the other was a X-Men comic. I also got a Family Guy t-shirt and a CD from the "movie" Evangelion: Death. Walking around, we saw Walter Keoning there, the guy who played Checkov. He was there last year too. Good ol' Checkov. If only we could hear him scream for Kirk one... last... time... We also saw photos of Picard and Janeway in sexy poses. Later I met up with Alex and Sam, who I was planning on meeting earlier, they got there late... *sigh* I need a cell phone. Anyway, I tried to show Alex the Picard photos. I think she has a thing for bald men :P but she refused to go. We walked around some more, had lunch, and saw the anime costume contest. Lots of characters I did not know of were there. Lots of Trigun and Sailor Moon people there. The best tho was Mario. He was perfect for the character, same looks, costume looks the same, had a plunger, got everyone to chant his name, and I think he had the Super Mario Bros 1 music playing in the background. Sam, Alex, and I couldn't see to well from being really far back, so we just talked most of the time. After that, MegaCon was over for the day. I then went home and was shortly afterward called by Phil.
Hanging Out with Friends
Phil called asking if I wanted to hang out at Dave's place. I came over, besides, Phil and Dave, Cory, Josh, and probably some others I do not remember were there. We watched pirated Family Guy eps off my laptop and some other stupid stuff for several hours. A few days later we got together again to go bowling. This time Kenny was there. I have not seen him since his graduation party after we graduated from high school. His parents moved to Sarasota and he goes to Appalachian State Univ. After two bad games of bowling (at least for me, such a loser) we went over to PJ's house. He had several DVDs of Aqua Teen Hunger Force. We watched that while looking at stupid stuff on his computer. Played some Halo at Phil's place too.
Misc.
The rest of Spring Break was taking care of stuff and relaxing. I helped raise money for retarded, or mentally slow, kids at Morning Star. I think combined we raised a total of like $1100. I also helped my dad with the greenbelt behind my house (A greenbelt is a natural area surrounding a lake) The area has become overrun with vines, big thick ones. So, on the edge of the water, and occasionally stepping in, we tried to clear that area up. My dad has been working on it for some time. I also went fishing. After nearly a full day of vine pulling, we all went to a really good Chinese buffet. It was great. I miss really good Chinese food at UF. Had to do thermo hw over the break too. It was assigned the day we left. Damn Thermo!
