  Trouble Ahead

The Army just canceled the Comanche helicopter contract. This is bad news for the economy and very bad news for my family since my dad works for a major defense contractor. The news of the cancel was on CNN and a bunch of other stations. I really hope everything works out, if my dad gets laid off it would mean very bad news for my whole family.

The Comanche is an attack / surveillance helicopter that makes very little sound and is undetectable by radar. Damnit! Why did the army have to cancel. An aircraft like that sounds awesome. Yeah, 121 of them would cost 14 billion dollars, but hey, look at what it does for our economy: Boeing had a contract with building the Comanche, so did United Technologies and Lockheed Martin. Those companies employ huge amounts of engineers. These are jobs that require intelligence and pay well. These are the jobs that you want to create and spur the economy. My dad is still working, but he sounded nervous about it. He heard the news before CNN did but he didn't tell me until now. I'm upset and a little depressed right now.

Belched up with tidings of comfort and joy by Joe at 9:42:00 PM.
