City of Gainesville: FU UF
Gainesville does not care about students, our needs, or our wants. They only want to make money off of us. Of course, we do not want that. But they were clever enough to find out how to keep making money off of us: Hold city elections during Spring Break. Yes, Gainesville has said FU UF Students, go home, do not vote. To get an absentee ballot call, 374-5252. For mayor, I will be voting for a democrat. Why am I doing such an act? All three candidates are democrats. I just have to pick the most conservative one. Then maybe buisnesses will not be scared to move here. Gainesville sucks.

Blog: Evolution!
It has been 5 months since I started my blog and it has come a long way since then. OmniPrime: UF's Nuclear Waste started out as a simple blogger blog, then it got a simple commenting system, then a calender, then a new layout, a more complex commenting system, trackback and permalink, and new blogging software. I have got to thank the girl who got me started blogging, Branille. She got me started with blogger, showed me how to get a blogroll, and a simple commenting system. She answered numerous questions as well. With her initial help I could not of done what OmniPrime: UF's Nuclear Waste has become today. Thank You Branille! :) I am in the process of creating new header files for every page, which will feature a clearer OP logo.
And the cycle continues...
Cindy Jo now has a blog! w00t! She named her blog Wandering Mija. I met her over the weekend when I was at Gasparilla. She's one of my roomate's friends from hs. Some of her friends that I know have blogs, so I talked to her about starting her own blog, and she did! yay Cindy Jo! (I'm so... so proud of you!) :P She is using blogger, has has blogroll, and the commenting system that I now use with trackball. She's even using the CSS template that I customized for my blogroll! She was able to set everything up fairly quickly too. I was once a beginner, now I am helping others set up their own blogs. I bet one day she could be helping others start their own blogs,
And the cycle continues...

busy day...
I just had one hell of a day. Woke up at 8, went to thermo and then ate. I was one of the nuke eng's at the engineering fair for high school, mid, and grade school students. I got to give little kids irradiated strawberries that have been sitting on a table for two days (The radiation kills all germs / bacteria better than any other known method, the result is extreamly long shelf lives and very safe food), as well play M&M games with them. Then class, then I had prep. for my KGB audit with endless counting and excel sheets. We have so little money. lol. Had to run to Dominos to get receipt copies as well. Then came the audit. It went very well. Then came the bonus near two-hour reactor statics class in which I found out our exam is going to be harder than anything I could of imagined, which will be right before Spring Break. And two prelabs to do for tomorrow, and thermo hw due friday which I just finished. Oh and what is really sad is the day b4 our reactor statics exam, hw is due. Reactor Statics hw usually has a few problems that can take over half a day to do, in a group. And our prof got upset we used Maple to integrate an integral on one of his questions, even tho the integral was nearly insolvable w/o integral tables or computers. Then KGB Family Guy night w/ pizza. That went well. Everyone liked it. It ran a little longer than I had expected.

Trouble Ahead
The Army just canceled the Comanche helicopter contract. This is bad news for the economy and very bad news for my family since my dad works for a major defense contractor. The news of the cancel was on CNN and a bunch of other stations. I really hope everything works out, if my dad gets laid off it would mean very bad news for my whole family.
The Comanche is an attack / surveillance helicopter that makes very little sound and is undetectable by radar. Damnit! Why did the army have to cancel. An aircraft like that sounds awesome. Yeah, 121 of them would cost 14 billion dollars, but hey, look at what it does for our economy: Boeing had a contract with building the Comanche, so did United Technologies and Lockheed Martin. Those companies employ huge amounts of engineers. These are jobs that require intelligence and pay well. These are the jobs that you want to create and spur the economy. My dad is still working, but he sounded nervous about it. He heard the news before CNN did but he didn't tell me until now. I'm upset and a little depressed right now.

Nigeria is Stupid
Nigeria is refusing to allow their children to have the polio vaccine b/c they beleive it is contaminated with a US drug designed to kill muslims. This should go down as an entire nation's gov't winning the Darwin Award for killing their children b/c of their own stupidity.

Gasparilla and the party afterward
I just got back from a long party in Tampa. It started yesterday, when Dustin and I went to Tampa for their annual Gasparilla Festival. I think it was the festival's 100th anniversary, 1904-2004. It took a while to find a parking space. When we got there, we tried calling two of Steve Cano's friends, Amber and Cindy, who were there and I tried calling a friend of mine that was going to be there, Steve Johnson. Dustin and I attempted to meet up with Cindy and Amber in the beginning, but we could not find each other. We went down 7th st. while trying to catch bead neclaces thrown fromt he floats. I got a fair amount. there were some people there that looked like that African tribe with so many beads; you know, the ones that has those rings all the way up their necks. On the way down, I got some pics of a fight that broke out, lol. It was an intense fight. There were also boobs on the streets. So after walking down to the main eating area, we found Cano's friends. They were cool. Then we walked up to the top level so Cindy could meet one of her friends, then we left for the parking garage. I met Steve Johnson up there. Apparently his friends were drunk and left him at USF. He drove down himself to Gasparilla. He got flahsed as soon as he left his car. Talked to him for a while, then he went down to see the end of Gasparilla and we drove off. We had two cars, but Dustin and I did not know the area, so he switched off with Amber. She drove with me to where we were going to meet up to go to the party. There was only two set of directions, so one car had to follow the other, and Cindy knew the area the best. We all got lost in Ybor. That city is so poorly designed. We ended up meeting up in the ghetto in some shady corner called 12th st. and 12th ave. Amber was bi, so I had to ask "What is it like being bi?" :P She said I am going to be on her AIM profile. lol. Stupid questions can be so funny sometimes. Then we went to one of Dustin's friend's birthday party. There was a good number of people there, mainly USF people, like engineering and computer majors. There was a huge bar area but not that much heavy drinking. DDR was there too. Sigh.... engineers... That game is so weird. Well, I didn't sleep last night, I took a short nap somwhere between 4:30 and 5. Then we went back to Gainesville. There was a very heavy fog last night and this morning. It lasted from Tampa almost all they way back up to UF.

Found a good archive of speeches (as mp3's not txt's)
Like history? If you do, then I think you will enjoy himinbi.org's archive of great speeches. This page contains huge collection of speeches from the 20th century: FDR, Nixon, Malcom X, Neil Armstrong, Ronald Reagan, Woodrow Wilson, Babe Ruth, Hitler, Winston Churchill, several Kennedy's, MacArthur, Queen Elizabeth, Martin Luther King, Jr. etc. I just spent the last 30 min downloading every speech. This stuff is quality source material. No rephrasing by journalists, book writiers. This is the good stuff, the real people, the real speeches. The mp3's are from CD's too, so the quality is high.

Gay Marriage will kill the Democratic Party
Califonia is a very liberal state. However, the people there banned gay marriage in a vote that said that marriage was the union between a man and a woman. This gay marriage ban, voted on by the public in a ballot initiative, not the California legislature, won with 61% of the vote in a state with 34% Republican registration. This ballot initiative carried 52 of 58 counties.
Gavin Newsom decided to allow gay marriage in his city, using President's day as cover for what he did so it would take longer to be shut down. Well, it has been shut down. On the marriages licenses, county officials have been crossing out "groom and bride" as printed on the standard application and writing in phrases such as "applicant number 1" and 'applicant number 2" or they've been writing in "spouses for life". They are altering the form, they are invalidating the form and thus making the form illegal, every one of them. None of these forms will be accepted.
Many democrats support gay marriage. Why then, did so many democrats oppose Gavin Newsom? It hurts them. Cali's election results demonstrates that most people oppose gay marriage. This is not a good issue for democrats to support, it will make them see too far left for most people's comfort. However, that is what they really are. Too bad they don't come out honestly and share the awful truth with people.
In the San Jose Mercury News: "The biggest surprise of the day came from U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer seeking her third term this fall, long a champion of gay rights who publicly stated she does not believe in changing state law to allow for the recognition of same-sex marriage." So here she is, long a supporter of gay rights, not just supporter, a champion, and all of the sudden it's her election year, and she comes out against this, and she from San Francisco. Democrats are scared. They support gay marriage, but cannot show it.
What bothers me is the way the party's leaders tell those who support gay marriage to be quit. They are telling them that their timing is off. That's it: bad timing. Not that gay marriage is wrong and that they should not support it, but that they should not announce their support for it during an election year. Do you know what this means? The democratic party is trying to hide what they beleive in, and plan on pushing for gay marriage when their seats are not going to be voted out of office. What a bunch of hypocrits.

Time for Search Items
Here are some of the recent phrases people have used to get to my blog. Note: If you entered one of the below search items and came to my blog, keep searching my blog using the months to the left, most of these phrases are in my posts.
pictures uf bad table manners (Google)
what would you do with a drunken sailor mp3 (Yahoo)
howard dean mp3 original (Google)
allison kreiger (Google)
free keygen for inboxcop (Google)
geico ad avi (Google)
how do you destroy medical waste on Mars (Google)
original howard dean speech mp3 (Google)
president bush florida campain (AOL)
removing divx symbol (Google)
wesley clark bin laden I did not believe back then (Google)
tricalvinists (Google)
Some of these are just odd, espicially the first. I had no idea that my celtic music post would get hits. People are still searching for Howard Dean mp3's, I don't blame them, that was one funny speech. And apparently one person is searching for one of my friends... stalker... lol, j/k whoever you are. InboxCop has become a program that costs money. I am so glad I got it before they started charging; it looks like the people who got it now are looking for keygens, lol. "how do you destroy medical waste on Mars" is amusing, it relates to my blogs title, and my post on going to mars, but who the hell wants to destory medical waste on Mars? Not like there is any medical stuff there. I don't even know what removing the divx symbol is about. Maybe the person wants another program to be the default for video like WMP, RealOne, or WinAmp. I remember that Wesley Clark post... i think... something about him and some enemy of the US posing together for a pic during the Clinton Administration.

hw, gym, kgb, chinese
Yesterday was fun. Went to the nuke building to do hw. When I got there, there were people there already that had been spending hours on just the first problem. Sigh... 7 hours and only finished problem one part a and halfway through b. It's all this derivation crap. I wish we could do actual problems instead. After that I went to SW Rec with some nuke people. This was the first time I've gone to UF's largest gym this semester, I usually go to the one that is closest to my dorm, and I usually don't work out anywhere near as hard as I did yesterday. But I am really glad that I did. I feel sore all over now. I got back to my dorm just as KGB people were leaving for our meeting. I jumped out of their car, got a jacket, and went back down to go to our meeting. This was when I relaized I left my bag in their trunk, the nuke people, not KGB. So now I can't do any work today. The hw is, I think, much harder using a 4 function calculator than a TI-89. Anyways, We all piled into Alicia's car to go to the meeting. It was full. Exiting was like a clwon car. Two tall guys and two normies, and a short guy leaving a VW Golf. Food was good. I was really hungry due to the gym, so I got General Tso and two sushi plates. mmmm.... Tso and suhsi... Anyways, it was a typical meeting. Dustin said funny but strange stuff, we all laughed, Danny was like, don't get me fired, etc. I went home with Carly in order to free up space, she made made me her bitch in the end. She spent the weekend at her bf's, so she had a bunch of stuff to bring back to her place. Then when I got home I played the Sims / AIM till 2. I don't have my notebooks either, in my bag in Kevin's car, so I am skipping all my classes that are skipable today.

skyofoctober: maybe Hitler had the right idea: kill the bastards
skyofoctober: just trying to steal our money
skyofoctober: and speaking of killing
skyofoctober: id sure like to lynch me some coloreds
skyofoctober: those bastards
skyofoctober: all they do is sit around and eat watermelons
skyofoctober: and fried chicken
skyofoctober: slavery
skyofoctober: now that was the way to go
skyofoctober: and lets not forget those aquinty eyed motherfuckers the chinese
skyofoctober: what the hell is up with them
skyofoctober: god must have been on a break when they popped out of the mud
skyofoctober: talk about a degenerate form of humanity
J0E one: ok, i'm going to have to stop it here......
J0E one: if UF sees this, i'm going to be hanged
J0E one: but it is going in there!
Summary for those to busy or lazy to read entire convo:
- David read my last post and complained about me using his name out of context / as a verb.
- Talked about switching comments / forum posts.
- Get into argument over what a blog is
- I think it is only one that is webpage based, that the user can change every aspect of, ones that you can use search engines to find, that talk about other internet sites and the author's opintions.
- Dave thinks livejournals count as a blog.
- They do not. Here is a defintion of a blog "a web site characterized by datestamped or even timestamped updates (although not necessarily daily or even frequently) that reveal the owner's personal experiences, feelings, thoughts, and opinions on anything" note: "website", livejournals are not considered a website.
- Get into a conquer the world fis. Plans to conquor all the internet's blogs, starting with Branille's.
- Talk about loyalty to others like youself. David argues against it
- David becomes my bitch.
- David makes racist comments to make post more interesting.
The End

Changes to "A Taste of UF's Nuclear Waste"
I finally got some free time to just go look at some other blogger blogs and see how they set theirs up so I might improve on mine. I noticed something. Most of the best blogs use HaloScan for comments, not CommentThis, so I went to check it out. HaloScan is much better. It looks much cleaner, still has the smilry faces everyone likes, and can be modified with css and allows custom images at the top along with many other things. So can you guess what I just spent doing to my blog? I did a Dave Miranda*. I transferred all the comments people have posted on my blog to the new service I am using, HaloScan. Yeah, now my head hurts. I think it is a combination of both so much copy / paste and drinking too much orange juice. I have like 790% of my daily value of vitamin c. I also added a permalink to my template so now you can link exactly whatever post you want, rather than just the page number.
*A Dave Miranda: The act of transferring counltess posts from one service to another. It is a sign that the user has no life. However, all of Dave's posts were deleted on his forum due to him choosing a crappy service after he spent so much time transferring them :P

States I've been to
On January 14th, I did one of those meme things where u bold states you've been to. Well, I guess here is a graphic of it. I am not sure if I have been to North and South Carolina. I may of driven through them w/o staying. And as for New York, all I have been the is JFK Airport on the way to Ireland. After Florida, Texas is the state I've seen the most of.

create your own visited states map
lol, now that I think about it, this looks almost like a Civil War map :P

Thermo Sucks! (what most people feel, lol)
Just got back from my first thermo exam. It sucked! The TA's let us go 15 min past the two hour limit, but still nearly the entire class did not finish. It was an open book, closed note, closed laptop exam. Last semester's class could use their laptops, which had all the tables, and could calc stuff too. Oh yeah, interpolating by hand is a waste of time! Damn paper and pencil. Also one of the probelms was in the back of a chapter, but it wasn't an assigned hw problem, so I didn't write in my book how to do it :P It was the hardest prob on the exam too. When the TA's yelled two min left, turn them in now OR DIE! well, not that last part, people got up stagmentally to turn them in. I told Dante how annoyed I was that there was the problem right in front of me in the book, but I did not know the solution, he told me that since it was a book problem, there was an anser in the back. He bs'ed the work for the problem. With no time left I couldn't bs work, so I wrote down: "From the back of the book, Q=207 kJ", or whatever the answer was. Putting the correct answer down w/o work would look very suspicious, so that's all I could do for an explanation. I hope at least I'll get 1/12 pts for that problem :P lol, I'm doomed. Now for releasing anger to ease my headache: DIE THERMO! THERMO SUCKS! I AM SO SCREWED BY THERMO! INTERPOLATING by hand MY ASS! (hopefully you'll find this last part so stupid it's funny, if not, and ur actually offended, oh well)

Thermo, Mardi Gras, and AIM
Thermo exam tomorrow, but no Rad. Int. and Reactor Stat. hw, so I can devote all of tomorrow to Thermo. RHW Mardi Gras was tonight. It was boring, I had to attend. Dustin got out of it. Alicia, Steve, and Carly did not come. DAMN YOU ALL! :P
I just got the new AIM version; it is annoying b/c DeadAIM does not work with it. *ended up uninstalling 5.5 and going back to 5.2 so deadaim could still work*

Java gone evil
A New York-based advertising agency has developed a new online pop-up format that could evade the "pop-up blockers" used by many companies.
The ad firm has designed an innovative series of 30-second, full-motion video commercials for clients such as Pepsi, Honda, and Warner Brothers. When a PC user visits high-traffic sites such as About.com, ESPN, or MSN, a video file is silently downloaded in the background. After the download is complete, the video expands to full-screen size and starts playing automatically the next time the user happens to switch from one window to another.
Pop-up blocker companies are planning to strike back. I predict the war for control of your monitors has just begun.

Who Does Al-Qaeda Fear More?
LOL. Here are a few points: "Do you think Al-Qaeda kind of enjoys John Kerry saying let's take our defense and give it to the UN and the French and the Germans and his current anti-war propaganda and all of his anti-war votes? So do you think Al-Qaeda is going to be more interested in Kerry and his war record, or his votes as a senator? Do you think Al-Qaeda is going to be more interested in Bush and his National Guard service, or his service as commander-in-chief? And between Kerry and Bush, or Edwards and Bush, who do you think Al-Qaeda might hope to win this election? And how might Al-Qaeda choose to impact our election in this country? This is what you have to think about. This is who the enemy is. This is what we're fighting. If Democrats want to cast themselves as anti-war and anti-American superpower, let 'em - and let 'em get mad when we call 'em on it. Once again, my friends, a very simple question: "Who does Al-Qaeda fear more?" You know, it's no different than, "Who did the Iranian terrorists prefer, Jimmy Carter or Ronald Reagan?" They were so afraid of Reagan, they let the hostages go as soon as Jimmy Carter was gone. So you just got to stay focused on this stuff. You can't allow this mainstream press - this is not just coverage of what's going on. This is sponsorship.
There is a media sponsorship of this Democratic primary. It distinguishes itself from coverage in that there is a vested interest in the outcome. It's not just a bunch of guys standing on the corner watching who wins the Democratic race. It's a bunch of guys who have a vested interest in who wins it, and as such it's the only story that matters to them. That primary has taken Michael Jackson off their minds, Martha Stewart off their minds, Kobe Bryant off their minds. This is big stuff to them." ~Rush

This night
The highlight of my night had to of been the casino. It was awesome. I broke the bank. I started out with 5,000 (fake money). I betted conservativly at the beginningk, like 100-500. The dice thrower was about halfway down the table from me. Eventually the dice came to me, where they stopped. I kept rolling the dice and I never crapped. Each time I threw the dice, they landed on a good number. For most of the play, the guys next to me were making huge sums of money. Heck, there were amny people making much more money on my throws than me. Oh one throw, the guy next to me bet like 20,000 and I threw his number. *got a hug* lol. I had little so I could only bet little, but that soon changed. I orinally had bets on the pass, 5 and 6. After I got more I betted more, and with my winning streak I made more. I soon was able to have bets on each number, which, as long as you don't crap, makes lots of money for you. After about an hour, the dealer had to bust out his reserve chips, lol. I kept on getting more and more good numbers, I never rolled a 7, which is very bad after the first roll in craps, so everyone kept making more and more. Oh guess what, I had no idea how to play when I started. I don't know how long we played, but when we got to what I think was the end of the second hour, the dealer had to close up. There was so many chips on the board, it was vety hard to keep track of who bet what, and he was very low on chips. I guess you could say I broke the bank. From my initial 5,000 I ended up with 45,000. It was at Gator Nights, so it wasn't real money, but every 5,000 could be redeemed for one raffle ticket. Oh, and on the biggest prize, I was only off by the last digit.
The video game tournament was fun. I signed up for both Halo and NFL Street. I played Steve in NFL Street and lost. After a wait I played Halo and got last of 4 with only 7 kills, hey, I was playing against guys who brought their own controllers and had headphones and such. This was all before going to the casino. Dustin was next to me at craps there. We were both losing chips in the beginning. We found out that this was actually the only night that they had the casino, the dealers were professionals, but they helped us rather than tried to rip us off, lol. We met up with Steve and Alicia shortly afterwards for the raffle. Then we all walked home while plotting... more on that to come later :P Got up at 5:30am, now 2:10am, I am tired. Good night.

Post of Depression, Apathy, and Doom (Reading may cause bordom and even death)
Woke up at 5:30, saw frat guys from when looking out my 3rd story window playing soccer lit by their car's headlights, and went to studying for an exam. Went to class, studyed some more, took the exam, did fair, then left to do reactor statics hw. It was so long and difficult that towards the end, i was very apathetic, just like everyone else. The guy who invented the equation commited suicide shortly after creating it. I am so going to fail any exam in this class. Here is one equation we got in our notes that that guy invented (hey, miserly loves company):
(?d^3r over v (d?(r, E, O, t)/dt - Sindp(r, E, O, t) - ?(E)/4p*?dE' from 0 to infinity * ?d'r*? Sf(r, E') ?(r, E', O', t) - ?dE' from 0 to infinity * ?dO' over 4p * Ss(r, E'->E, O'->O,) * ?(r, E', O', t) + St(r, E) * ?(r, E, O, t) + delO*?(r, E, O, t))dE, dO = 0 (note: ? means either an integral, phi, or psi, O means omega, damn html)
Yeah, one equation = my life will suck. lol. so sad. It has got to be more of a coincidence that he commited suicide right afterwards. I really hope we are not going to be using it anytime soon, even though a 2hr lecture was on it. Wait, I'm screwed. Well, I am going to go play lots of Halo now, against about 64 other people. My roommate is co-ordinating it. Odd equations, halo, yeah, what a nerd. Why did it have to come to this? Oh well, the huge sums of money that nuclear engineers make will make up for it.

yay
First Post of Feb. yay. I just got back from the track, I ran until the lights went out, which was since 11. I have the taste of broccoli in my mouth. I had that and buffalo wings for dinner as I watched the Super Bowl while doing Thermo hw. Super Bowl XXXVIII was awesome. It was exciting to the last second. I kinda wish there was overtime, but I am glad that the Patriot's kicker got at least one of his 3 kicks, and the most critical one at that. Who cares if ur 1/3 if the 3pts u got won the Super Bowl. It was an exciting SuperBowl, almost as exciting as an SEC game involving UF.
A friend of mine at UCF recently got a really nice PDA. Her getting it inspired me to figure out how to sycronize my pda with me pc. My little pda is awesome. It's nothing like "Flash", but I have a bunch of video files on it along with a bunch of pics and a games I got off of Sony's site such as billiards, solitare, poker, lemmings, etc. Tetris I had to delete b/c it was a 10 day trial. I also got and a BS-O-Matic, which is similar to Dogbert's Mission Statement Generator @ dilbert.com, translators, and an interactive directory of over 600 drinks. Also, with pc sycronization, I cannot lose all the data I lost when my battery drained down to 0 in Dec. yay for pc sycronizatoin! Well, I am going to go shower up now and then sleep.
