  Lots of stuff to say:

Well, Thanksgiving break is over, marking three weeks left of this semester. It was an interesting break. I hung out with a few friends from up north, went shopping the day after Thanksgiving for the first time in my life, getting a bunch of rebates, and went to the UF vs FSU game.

UF vs. FSU Game 2003: The Cheapest Nole Win I have seen
This game was really annoying. I hate Jack Childris. The entire game was his fault. I usually will never say that about a ref. Actually, come to think about it, I have never blamed an entire game on one official. This game however, is the exception. Jack Childris was either grossly incompetent, very biased (ACC refs officiated the UF FSU game), or was paid off.

There are usually a few questionable calls every game. "Usually", when watching the replays you see that the refs made the right calls most of the time. This game was the exception. There were many questionable calls, all of which were against UF. In the first quarter, FSU fumbled and UF recovered, however, the refs ruled him down. It can be seen by the replays that he was not down. Shortly afterward, FSU fumbled again. UF then ran it in for a TD, however, the refs ruled the ball down. In the Orlando sentinel, they have a huge color photo on the back of the Game Day section showing the ball falling out of the nole's hands as he was being brought down. One the next play FSU got a TD. At this point the fans were infuriated. I sat in the north end zone where the TD occurred. I have never heard everyone chanting "YOU SUCK" to a single ref. He was standing in the endzone at the time.

UF outplayed FSU through out the entire game. We had better stats in nearly everything. Leak did an awesome 3rd and 22 conversion in the second quarter. At halftime,Leak was 9/12 for 96 yards passing; Rix was 3/5 for 64 yrds passing. Check ESPN.com for more stats on the game.

In the 3rd, something that probably made many fans want to physically cause harm to the refs occurred. It was right after UF's TD. UF was running the ball and was tackled. The ball popped loose AFTER HIS SHOULDER HIT THE GROUND. If you want to see it, look at a replay of the game with 2:50 left in the 3rd. Then FSU got the ball and ran it for about 20 yards for a TD. Jack Childris did not see what happened, the blind bastard. He was next to the endzone. When FSU ran it in for TD, his arms went half way up, he hesitated, then he gave the TD signal. He then moved onto the PAT w/o even consulting the other refs. Replay after replay showed UF's run was downed and that there was no fumble. That's two TD's FSU got so far due to the refs making bad calls. This TD for FSU tied the game at 24.

When FSU was on the Gator's two yard line, there was a fumble. Watching the replays the day after the game on TV. The nole did not have the ball when he went down! UF had recovered that fumble and we ran it down field. However, the fumble was ruled down BUT IT WASN"T DOWN. This caused the UF player who recovered the fumble to become very pissed, so he spiked the ball. Then the refs called unsportmanlike conduct on him, when it was their bad call that made him do it! At this point, the student section in the north end zone had both hands up with middle fingers extended. This wasn't just a few students either. "Fuck you ref" could easily be heard. That unsportmanlike conduct and FSU keeping the ball led to a FSU TD. That makes 3 TD's FSU got due to those damn ACC refs. I hate ACC refs, this isn't the first time they crewed UF, but they have never done it as bad as this before.

The final drive for UF with a minute left was bad for UF. Leak was extremely nervous and I don't blame him. There was also a pass interference that was not called during that final drive.

After the game, UF and FSU stormed onto the field. FSU then proceeded to stomp on UF's large "F" in the center of the field. UF players were already very pissed b/c of the really, really bad officiating. The stomping pushed them over the edge and a huge fight broke out between the teams. It was eventually sorted out. A FSU player removed his helment and hit it on the head of a graduate assistant coach for UF, knocking him face down into the turf, where he did not move. Damn it! If I were him I'd sue that play and push for criminal punishment! Damn FSU! Damn the ACC! Damn Jack Childris! The refs left the stadium with debris thrown at them. I wish I was in the South End Zone for that b/c I would of done it too. If Spurrier were the coach, he'd push for an investigation and raise hell doing it. Oh, btw, the ref that did the bad call in the UF UGA game that was proved wrong due to the replays was put on probation for a week.

UF outplayed FSU. We fought them down the the last second. This is the only time in my life where I blame the loss entirely on the officiating. We were the better team. 3 TD's wrongly given to FSU. 1 very controversial call going to FSU is acceptable, but 6?

The Orlando sentinel wrote an article on the game. Back in 1966 a bad call led to a UF win against FSU. In this game, there were 6. The article they wrote showed many fallacies the refs made. Their calls weren't just seen by UF fans, others saw their bad calls as well. I hope Jack Childris ether loses the ability to ref due his gross incompetence or faces jail time if he was bribed.

Final Score of UF vs. FSU game:
Florida: 34
ACC Officials: 21
FSU: 17

My Thanksgiving Break, other than the UF - FSU game
Getting home from UF was slow. It took me 3 1/2 hours. I was talking to Alex the day before, she was able to go 90 most of the trip on Tuesday. On Wednesday when I went, I spent most of the trip in first gear. The trip back was almost as bad due to an accident involving a compact crashing into the back of a Ford Excursion, but it was much faster than the trip down. Thanksgiving was fun, I had Cajun style turkey with my family, then got up at 5:30 for the huge sales the next day. I have never done that before. The lines were terrible, but many items were free after rebates. I went only for the electronic stores. I got a Sony Clie PDA for 96 bucks where the original price was 150, 200 according to Consumer Reports. I got a bunch of other stuff too, I got a Pearl Jam CD, Foo Fighters, and DMB. Circuit City had all their cd's for 9.99. Norton SystemWorks was free, a 69 dollar value, Lion King platinum Edition was 12 bucks. I got about 200 dollars worth of free stuff that day. I am glad I did it. I think it was worth the long lines and wake up b4 morning light hours. The Pearl Jam albulm had 3 cd's, it's what I'm listening to now.

Well, I didn't really do too much homework until today, I finished up what circuits I started over the break, and I still need to do rad interactions and adv. eng. math. So, I think I'll end this post here to the sounds of Small Town by Pearl Jam.

  Thanksgiving Break!

Well, I am leaving for Orlando tomorrow and will not be updating my blog until I get back. Today was very gloomy. The sky was dark grey throughout the day. My reactor systems prof added two classes today to make up for the days we would miss :P That combined with impending quizzes and exams next week makes me wonder whether thanksgiving break will be enjoyable: so much work due when I get back! Math, Radiation Interactions, and Circuits hw due the day we get back, Monday the 1st. What happened to breaks where you can just hang out with friends and have fun? Welcome to college...

  Success

I was able to finish my radiation interactions exam. Much thanks is due to Martha, Gary, and Matt. I am so glad I got that done with before tonight. What's even better is that the circuits homework that was due tomorrow was postponed until Dec 1st. Joy!

  stuff...

Sigh.... I feel like butter spread over too much bread. Homework in every subject and a radiation interactions exam Friday. On top of that, I am loaded with paperwork to do for KGB so we don't face a financial freeze next month. However, my cold is getting better and my room is clean, yay! This has got to be that crunch time of the year. I think it is doable. This is my week of hell, professors wanting everything done before the week of Thanksgiving. However, I have only once class on tusdays, and the Wednesday b4 Thanksgiving is a day no one wants to go incl. profs. So I might be able to go home on monday... nice. wait, no. IRHA Audit on Tuesday at 5:30. oh well.
I just finished editing an animated gif for Phyl and I agreed to take a friend's friend home to Orlando over the break in exchange for Chinese food; and for some reason the calendar is not loading on the upper-right hand side of this page each time it loads. Oh, and my forum has become active once again.

Master and Commander, an "old person" :P, and upcoming events

Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World came out today. (Possible spoilers at end of this review) I went to see it with Anthony and Jason, Anthony liked it, I liked it as well. Jason was expecting much more action that it had though. But I thought M&C was a really good movie. I hope to write a Review on my Reviews Page sometime soon. It was a rather simple movie about naval warfare during the Napoleonic Era with a very nice twist at the end. The characters were good, the sound effects were awesome. Pippin from LOTR was in M&C. Before the movie, The Return of the King's trailer was shown; it looks awesome! I thought I was going to be thinking about the Battle of Minas Tirith throughout Master and Commander, but M&C was gripping from the very beginning. Near the end, during the mass sea burial, when the English crew recited the Our Father, some people behind me burst into tears. That is when a tear came to my eye as well. This was an excellent movie and if you consider only historical movies, this was one of the best done, much more accurate than Gangs of New York, and it puts Titanic (from a historical point of view only) to shame. That's enough for here, for more see my Reviews page. But for those that have seen the movie and remember the seal (Galapagos Islands), I leave you with "ARGH!"

Ah Friday, I have awaited this day since Monday (I was sick this week). I feel so relaxed now that I have free time. However the best part about today was getting to talk to Trish from high school again. We talked a lot during junior year out on the grass during lunch and she was in peer ministry with me, but we haven't talked in a long time since then. She is such a hottie ;) I forgot how much I missed her until we started talking...

In other News, party tomorrow night (Sat) with CR's, last party was lots of fun. Also, UF is up against USC, our last SEC game. If we lose, the chances of us getting the SEC East are nil. Oh, and UCF lost to UF in soccer tonight. Would you like to know more?

Fun Night in Orlando, UF beats Vandy, Zook oddity, Joe cheers for Miami, FSU Clemson oddness, UCF loses to a 1-8 team.

BMHS's Homecoming was fun, there was a good handful of people there I knew. Meeting them, such as Troy, Heather, Joe Shade, Reitz, the Yebba's, again brought back the memories. However, in the tradition of BMHS football, we lost by a lot of points. I left at halftime with Phil, Dave, and Cory to go over to Dave's house for Halo, The History of the World, and Wrongfully Accused. Fun Times.

The UF Vandy game was depressing. UF won, but not that well, screw ups all over the place. Also, Vandy played without honor! There were fights, many penalties called. Once three Vandy players brought down Leak with what seemed like two of them twisting his facemask; no penalty was called. Damn refs... Near the beginning two personal fouls were called on one play. They were to cancel. However, after several minutes of debate, Zook decided to decline the personal on Vandy, causing a 15 yard loss for UF. We were on our own side of the field then. Usually the only time you want to lose yards is when it will help you get a field goal, which is impossible when you're 80 yds away. Oh, and a snap went wrong for UF on a 2nd down, after Leak chased the ball down, it was 3rd and 42. Pitiful. If UF keeps this up, we'll lose to USC and FSU. Here is a recap of the UF Vandy game.

I usually hope Miami loses. They are rarely the underdog and to see some other team beat them is a good thing. However, there are some exceptions for this, like when Miami plays FSU. It was like this over the weekend. I wanted Miami to beat Tenn. Usually, I would never want a SEC team to lose to Miami, but there is a three way tie for the SEC East. UF needs to get more points than Tenn and Georgia. Therefore, Tenn losing helps UF get to the SEC Championship. But #7 Miami lost to #17 Tenn 10-6!!! Why? Of all the times I want Miami to win, why did they have to lose this game? Damn Miami, even in losing they find a way to hurt UF.

In other news, unranked Clemson beat #3 FSU 26-10. Go Clemson!!! I never would of guessed that. A weekend full of oddities. Oh, and unranked UCF lost again making them 3-7. E Michigan, the team they lost to, must of been really happy, that win makes then 2-8! Here's a recap of the UCF EMU game. For more info on why UCF will never succeed in football look at my UF vs. UCF page. Oh, and that win against UCF was just after E Michigan fired their coach for 8 loses in one season and for a 38-10 loss to Central Michigan.

Anyways, I have better get going so I can do some homework and find where my car is before an one and a half hour mass tonight. Masses really should be kept to one hour for ordinary Sunday masses, it's like the perfect time for a mass, not too long, not too short.

  Party for JWs 21st Birthday

That was fun. Party at JW's for his 21st Birthday was yesterday night. The punch was good, I think that's what's responsible for making me want to puke now. Kiwi, Watermelon chunks soaked for a day in alcohol, HiC Fruit Punch, some Captain Morgan Run, and one and a half bottles of 153 proof grain alcohol... Yeah, just thinking about that makes we want to puke, anyway, I didn't get drunk, actually, I never have been. But the party was fun. There were allot of people there, including Dante from BMHS and two nuke engineers I knew.

Homecoming!!! Both for UF and BMHS. I'm going to Orlando to hang out and play video games for a while, then eat at Commie China, our favorite Chinese restaurant. It will be just like all those times at Band Camp! lol. After BMHS loses there homecoming game (like always) we may go back to Dave's to play more video games. Good times. <--nerd, lol. Afterwards, I have to go back up to UF again for UF's Homecoming game the next day, what a weekend. After that, loaded with huge amounts of homework, not the easy kind either, the "why did I ever take this class type of homework". Well, off to Orlando!
ciao

The Matrix Revolutions, KGB and stuff, Exam Results, Co-op for Joe? Blog Template gone

Busy day.... Got up, went to circuits, more classes, try to get ahold of Dept. Chair for Spring '04 registration, the rushed off to see the 5pm showing of The Matrix: Revolutions. That movie is awesome! It is much better than Reloaded. I will not give away anything here about what happens. But that movie tied all three movies together, was filled with philosophical stuff, and kept me on the edge of my seat on countless occasions (e.g.: Reload! heh heh). The special effects were incredible. They used CGI, live action, and miniatures in a way that I didn't even notice, which of course is the best way. One of Revolutions' themes also makes this movie a good movie for a date. However, I will not say any more here. For my complete movie review, check out my Reviews Page, my review of The Matrix: Revolutions is not up now, but it should be up sometime after Saturday, which is the day that I will see it again (after the Florida Vandy game).

Being preoccupied with The Matrix: Revolutions, I missed my own office hours and part of a KGB meeting. oops... I got the Animatrix from Anthony, a friend I saw the movie with. Haven't seen it yet tho, I just got back from the KGB meeting.

In other news, I failed two exams, Circuits and Reactor Systems, yes Dave, u predicted my fall in circuits. But the class average was failure as well, so in actuality I didn't do to bad and my final grade, hopefully, will not be affected. So everything is working out fairly well.

I also found out yesterday that I may be going to Jackson, Miss. for a co-op for Entergy. $16.80/hour, $16.97/hour if I still have over a 3.0 after the Spring '04 semester. That, plus a $1500 bonus to help me movie up there. Sounds nice... One of the things I'll get to do if I go there is reactor design.

Also, I lost the template I created for this blog, so formatting updates will take a while to do. However, OmniPrime is about to reach 4,000 hits, so I made a few changes to my index page in commemoration, including a direct link to this blog, which I hear is "good".

UF - UGA Game in Jacksonville, #21 UF beats #4 Georgia 16-13

Jacksonville was awesome! UF and UGA both played very well. The game was exciting including the last second, where the Bulldogs made a last ditch effort for a TD, but it wasn't a Hail Mary pass, but rather a short one that ended in failure. The refs tho were terrible, well one was. In a long UGA pass, UF intercepted it in the air as it fell. The F ref called it as in bounds. Another ref called it as out of bounds. They started arguing against each other. If UF got this interception, it would be a huge help considering the very close score. UF players started crowding among the refs. It looked like the two refs would start a fistfight, but I could only hope for that. One of the refs overruled the other and the pass was ruled caught out of bounds with a sweeping hand motion pointing out. Then the replay appeared on the big screen. UF's CB's leg touched the ground before he fell out. The UF side of the stadium erupted in roar b/c of this. I was "upset". However, in college football, although all u need to be in is one leg on the ground, refs do not use replays to make calls, only what they saw. Anyways, #21 Florida beat #4 Georgia. YAY! Here's a recap of the game. It was really fun, I went to Jacksonville Landing after the game, soo many drunks.... lol.

In other news, unranked UCF lost to unranked WV 36-18, which makes UCF 3-6 for their 2003 season. For more reasons UF is superior to UCF, check out my UF vs. UCF page.

  Scary Movie 3

Scary Movie 3 was seen by me on today, well, technically yesterday, but tomorrow doesn't seem to start until daylight, so it can be said that I saw it today, actually, to be more correct, I saw it tonight. Anyways, it was really funny. It had the same elements the others had. It makes me want to see Signs, for it hadith many parodies fromith it. Pamela Anderson (having her name on my blog aught to get me a few more hits, lol) made a really good blonde. magnetic waves cause silicon to shrink, classic, lol.

Oh, FL-GA game is tomorrow in Jacksonville. I am going up there to see it. Stadium on the St. Johns, very nice. Going to be handing out fliers with Alex and the rest of the College Republicans. yay. Well, I need to sleep now if I am going to get up early for tomorrow. Oh, and this is the first post in November. yay! Happy Halloween! Happy All Saints Day!
